Joel Newton has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years as a producer, executive, manager, writer, director, and entrepreneur. He co-founded a management/production company that represented hundreds of Hollywood writers, directors, and actors and also produced two award-winning films. He then co-founded a production company with a 2-time Academy Award winner before they launched The Virtual Reality Company (VRC) in 2014. Newton was a 2016 Praxis Fellow as the co-founder of VRC and the company raised over $25M in venture capital to fuel ambitious immersive entertainment projects such as Jurassic World VR, which launched exclusively at Dave & Busters. In 2017, Newton left VRC to launch The Congregation.
