AkoFresh is building a climate-resilient food system by providing solar-powered cold chain solutions that help smallholder farmers reduce post-harvest losses, increase income, and access fairer markets. Through mobile cooling tricycles, solar-powered cold rooms, and farmer-centered training, AkoFresh enables last-mile communities to preserve crops efficiently without reliance on grid power or fossil fuels. The organization has supported over 3,000 farmers, reduced food waste by more than 1,200 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions, and saved over 950 tons of perishable crops from spoilage. AkoFresh works to unlock economic opportunity for women, youth, and rural food producers while advancing sustainable agriculture across Ghana and beyond.
