Brio exists to ensure that every child, no matter their circumstances, can learn mental health skills from their teacher. Working with education systems in Northern India, Brio designs and delivers evidence-based teacher training that strengthens their mental health, improves their classroom environment, and equips them to cultivate the same skills with their students. Rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Training, a science-based approach with over 1,000 RCTs, Brio's model is affordable and effective. It costs $14 to train a teacher to deliver significant improvements in child wellbeing—20% the cost of other programs for equivalent impact. And the government is willing to pay: For every $1 Brio spent on teacher training, the government spent $4. Over seven years, Brio has reached more than 140,000 teachers and is poised to benefit 3.3 million children per year by 2029.
