Uprooted Academy empowers first-generation, low-income students of color, particularly Black and Latino youth, to navigate the marathon of socioeconomic mobility with confidence and resilience. Recognizing that the first stop—college—should not set them up for chronic stress, Uprooted integrates trauma-informed mental wellness strategies with innovative technology to provide comprehensive support. Students engage in a personalized 9th–12th grade college and career curriculum, where they research colleges, identify career interests, and craft application essays. Uprooted’s platform assesses stress levels, connects students to supportive networks, and links them with college, career, and scholarship opportunities. This holistic, data-driven approach equips students to pursue their dreams, sustain their well-being, and close the racial wealth gap.
