Clean Start Africa is a transformative social enterprise that supports formerly incarcerated women in Kenya as they rebuild their lives after imprisonment. Their mission is to restore hope, dignity, and self-confidence, breaking cycles of poverty, crime, and recidivism. Founded by Teresa Njoroge following her wrongful imprisonment, Clean Start champions systemic reforms in the criminal justice system, addressing gender-specific challenges. The organization mobilizes communities and stakeholders to support the rights and well-being of these women, providing them with employment opportunities, economic independence, and comprehensive emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial support for trauma healing. With more than 4,000 women successfully reintegrated into society, Clean Start’s initiatives create life-changing opportunities for these women. Their holistic approach ensures a lasting impact, fostering community development and reimagining justice globally.
