Josh Brake is an engineer, educator, and writer. His background is in electrical engineering, with specific expertise in developing optical tools for microscopy and biomedical applications. He completed a B.S. and M.S. in engineering with an electrical concentration from LeTourneau University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology. Josh is now an assistant professor at Harvey Mudd College, where he cultivates undergraduate students through teaching and research. In addition to his academic work, he writes a weekly Substack newsletter on technology, education, and human flourishing where he seeks to outline and pursue redemptive quests.
