Paul Niehaus is the Co-Founder & Director of GiveDirectly, the leading international NGO specializing in cash transfers to people living in extreme poverty. He is also the Co-Founder of two emerging markets fintech companies: Segovia, an enterprise payments platform, and Taptap Send, a consumer remittance platform. He holds the Chancellor's Associates Endowed Chair in the Department of Economics at the University of California, San Diego, where he collaborates with governments in emerging markets to enhance the implementation of social programs. Paul earned a PhD in economics from Harvard University and is a National Science Foundation Fellow and Sloan Fellow.
