Tamara is a mother of four amazing children and the wife of Olatunde Sobomehin. She centers the principles of Love and Ujima (collective work and responsibility) as she works to advance social sustainability and restorative community design. Tamara is co-founder and Chief Education Officer of StreetCode Academy, an award-winning tech education organization with a mission to empower communities of color with the mindsets, skills, and access to participate in the innovation economy. She serves as a trustee for the Ravenswood City School District, and is a PhD student in Education at Stanford University, specializing in Learning Sciences & Technology Design, and Curriculum Studies & Teacher Education. As a learning scientist her research explores community-centered learning ecologies, joyful learning, Ed|Tech|Ed, and learning experience design and she aims to generate scholarship and technologies that that advance praxis of care, connectedness, and creativity.
