Paradigm Shift ignites the church to transform Africa’s entrepreneurial poor. Responding to poverty and injustice, we help churches initiate a volunteer-led, economic development model focused on coaching, training, discipling and mentoring microentrepreneurs. Paradigm Shift started with a question: Could the church be the epicenter for bringing lasting transformation in impoverished communities in the developing world? In the process of asking questions, we began creating a new model to address poverty in the most unequal societies in the world. With a team of South Africans, pan Africans and friends from Wall Street to the White House, we developed a model that worked. Since then, Paradigm Shift in South Africa has grown from 6 to 60 locations, from 8 to 800 volunteers and from 40 to over 4,000 entrepreneurs. We see the South African experience as a prototype for urban communities across the developing world. Uganda is the next chapter as the Paradigm Shift story unfolds.
